Kegley Farm/Christmas Tree Farm Service Learning Project

Location: Braehead Farm, Fredericksburg, Virginia
Partner: Germanna Community College
Date: September 6, 2018

Field Trips: During the 2018 Institute, the faculty cohort completed service learning project at Kegley Farms, a local, family owned and operated dairy and beef farm in Pulaski, Virginia.

Kegley Farm is one of the few dairy in the eastern United States that uses robotic milkers called ‘Lely Astronaut milkers’.

The Geoted-UAS team and faculty participants spent the day there collecting imagery and touring the farm. Another short service learning imagery-collection project was conducted at a nearby Christmas tree farm in Montgomery County.
