Date: May 9, 2018
Oyster is a small seaside community in Northampton County, on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
The Nature Conservancy’s Virginia Coast Reserve is working with the local community to design, develop, and maintain a nature trail with public access, interpretive signage, handicap accessibility, and a foot path on the site. Funding this trail is the Eastern Shore Community Foundation.
GeoTEd-UAS service learning activities at the site have included high resolution mapping and elevation modeling in support of the nature trail. Service learning participants were GeoTEd-UAS team members, cohort faculty and students from TNCC and ESCC.
